What’s the difference between a standard clean and a deep clean?

A standard clean is regular upkeep: kitchens, baths, floors, surfaces and trash, keeping a lived-in home in good shape. A deep clean goes further into buildup, detail work and the areas that don’t get full attention every visit.

If you’ve ever booked a “clean” and felt unsure afterward, the gap was usually scope, not effort. Here’s how we explain it for homes in Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Star and Nampa.

Standard clean (maintenance)

Think of it as the visit that keeps you from starting every weekend behind.

Typically includes (confirm on your checklist):

  • Kitchen counters, sink, and the outside of the stove, oven and microwave
  • Bathrooms cleaned and sanitized (toilets, showers and tubs, sinks, mirrors)
  • Dusting reachable surfaces, furniture, lamps and window sills
  • Floors vacuumed; hard floors mopped
  • Trash removed
  • Light attention to baseboards and cabinet faces (not a full detail every time)

The inside of the oven is an add-on on standard visits. Standard cleaning is what your recurring clean is built on once the home is caught up.

Deep clean (reset and detail)

Think of it as the catch-up: after a long gap, before guests, after construction dust, and always before recurring service starts.

Goes further on items like:

  • More thorough baseboards, doors and cabinet faces
  • Window sills and frames wiped down, plus reachable ledges and wall hangings
  • Heavier soap scum and buildup treatment where needed
  • Bathroom door tracks
  • The inside of the oven, which is included in every deep clean

Want the inside of the fridge or cabinets too? Those are add-ons, so ask when you book and we’ll put them on the scope.

A deep clean isn’t magic. It’s time and access. If a room is full of clutter, we clean what’s reachable. See what’s on the deep cleaning page, or open the full checklist: https://widget.build-remote.com/l/4aBpHCIM7

What we don’t take on

A few jobs people lump under “deep” that we don’t do: carpet shampooing, mold and mildew remediation, dishwashing, mattress cleaning, patio furniture, and anything that needs a ladder above six feet. We’ll tell you plainly if something is outside scope, and we’re glad to recommend someone.

How belief shows up in the checklist

We believe a clean home shouldn’t feel like a gamble. So we treat every visit like it’s our own place: clear scope, background-checked teams, insurance, and a real satisfaction guarantee. We do that by showing up on time, communicating plainly, and fixing it if something’s missed.

In practice, you know before we arrive what’s on your checklist. Every visit begins with a walk-through and before photos, and ends with a final walk-through and after photos. Not happy with something? Tell us within 48 hours and we’ll come back and re-clean it at no charge.

How every new client starts

Every new client starts with a deep clean. It resets the home and shows you exactly how we work. From there you move to a discounted standard recurring clean, weekly, every other week or every 4 weeks. Not sure which rhythm fits? Read how often you should get your house cleaned.

What a first visit looks like

  1. Confirm access: codes, pets, parking, areas to skip.
  2. Confirm scope: the deep clean checklist, plus any add-ons.
  3. Walk-through and before photos: we note any existing damage or stains and tell you the same day.
  4. Work the checklist.
  5. Final walk-through and after photos, so you can see exactly what was done.

A note on Treasure Valley dust

Dust here can make window sills and floors look dirty even in a well-kept house. That doesn’t mean you need repeated deep cleans. It means the right recurring rhythm matters if you want the house to stay guest-ready.

Next step

Tell us beds, baths, square footage, and whether it’s a lived-in home or a move-out, and we’ll set up your first deep clean. New clients get $50 off a first deep clean with code FIRSTCLEAN50, and we offer a $50 military discount.
